« She’s truly a great new voice for jazz » : voilà ce que Quincy Jones a dit
de Sarah Lancman lorsqu’elle a remporté le 1er Prix de la Compétition Internationale Shure du festival de Montreux en 2012. Cette expérience lui a permis de sortir son premier album « Dark » en 2015 en auto-production.
Après le succès de son second album « Inspiring Love » ( 2016 ) enregistré à New York dans lequel elle ose dévoiler ses compositions pour la première fois, elle va plus loin avec
« A Contretemps » (2017) enregistré en Thaïlande.
C’est également en tant qu’interprète que Sarah Lancman s’est révélée cette année avec « Intermezzo » (2018), un album rendant hommage à la chanson italienne en duo avec le pianiste Giovanni Mirabassi.
Considérée comme la «nouvelle voix du jazz français» et reconnue comme une véritable auteure-compositrice, Sarah Lancman revient avec son cinquième album intitulé «Parisienne» (son troisième comprenant des compositions originales).
Native de Châtelet-Les Halles, Sarah Lancman rend ici hommage au Paris de son enfance en évoquant son amour des mots, ses inspirations musicales, son attachement à la chanson française (Charles Aznavour, Michel Legrand...) dans une dizaine de compositions originales également inspirées des standards de jazz des années 60 : SORTIE LE 6 MARS 2020.
« She’s truly a great new voice for jazz » : that’s what Quincy Jones said about Sarah Lancman when she received the 1st Prize of the International SHURE Jazz Voice Competition of Montreux in 2012. A multi-talented musician, Sarah Lancman is a vocalist, a pianist and a composer.
She is one of the finest singers to discover. After the success of her album « Inspiring Love » recorded in New York City, the singer comes back with a new one called « A contretemps » surrounded by a prestigious team: the pianist Giovanni Mirabassi ( 17 golden albums, Victoire de la Musique en 2002, Django d’or ) also producer and co-composer of the album who has currently played with Chet Baker, Steve Grossman, Eliott Zigmund, Glenn Ferris
and many others, on doublebass Gianluca Renzi (Ari Hoenig, André Ceccarelli, Kevin Hays...), on drums Gene Jackson ( Herbie Hancock Trio, Diane Reeves, Christian McBride , Joe Lovano...), and as a special guest, the japanese legend TOKU on vocal & flugelhorn (13 albums & recording artist of Sony Japan).
Her new album " PARISIAN " will be released on March 6th 2020.
